The central historical comparison is straightforward: did the player identified before kick-off score during the defined match period?
Successful prediction
If a predicted player scores at least one qualifying goal, an Anytime Goalscorer prediction can be recorded as successful under the relevant definition.
Unsuccessful prediction
If the player participates but does not score, the prediction is unsuccessful.
Player does not participate
This situation should be identified separately rather than automatically grouped with ordinary unsuccessful predictions. Historical model analysis needs to distinguish a football prediction miss from a player who never entered the match.

All recognised goals can be retained in the match record even though the first qualifying goal is sufficient for the binary scorer result.

A player can satisfy an Anytime Goalscorer forecast without scoring the first goal of the match.

The first-goal event is narrower because the player not only has to score but must do so before every other eligible scorer in the fixture.

The predicted scorer may have struggled to generate meaningful finishing opportunities.
No goal with several shots on target
The player was involved in dangerous finishing situations but did not convert.
Goal from one shot on target

Both Teams to Score records whether each side found the net. It does not say which players were responsible.
A fixture can finish BTTS Yes while every predicted player fails to score because the goals came from different team-mates.

Final Match Result and Player Scoring Result Are Independent
A player can score in a defeat, fail to score in a comfortable win or score the only goal of a drawn match.

Multiple Predicted Scorers from One Match Need Separate Records
Betiball may rate more than one player in the same fixture. Each player should be treated as an individual prediction rather than recording the whole match as one successful result when any one candidate scores.
